Company Description

Location: London (hybrid working 3 office days per week) Employment Type: Permanent, full time Additional Benefits: Annual Bonus, Cash-Car Allowance & Private Medical Insurance

We’re Supercharged – And This Is Just the Beginning. The AA is entering a bold new era with AI at the wheel. We’re building a dedicated AI capability, and we’re looking for passionate pioneers to shape what comes next. We’ve recently replatformed onto a modern data stack, unlocking access to one of the UK’s richest datasets—from detailed vehicle fault histories to real-time connected car telemetry. Now, we’re turning that data into intelligent systems that keep Britain moving.

As an AI Engineer, you’ll lead a team tackling real-world challenges with direct impact. Think predictive models that anticipate breakdowns before they happen, intelligent routing to optimise thousands of roadside patrols, and agentic AI that transforms customer service. This is your chance to be part of something new. Something exciting. Something that matters. Ready to join the AA+AI journey?

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable AI and ML models using GenAI, LLMs, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Develop robust backend systems in Python, optimised for cloud-native environments and production use.
  • Implement MLOps best practices including CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring, and model retraining.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into AI-powered solutions.
  • Build and maintain reusable components and data pipelines to support model training and inference.
  • Ensure all AI systems are secure, ethical, and aligned with responsible AI governance standards.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience within AI/ML engineering, with a strong track record of building and deploying real-world GenAI applications.
  • Proficient in Python and experienced in developing scalable, cloud-native backend systems.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
  • Experience with MLOps practices such as CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring, and model retraining.
  • Skilled in working with large, complex datasets and building robust data pipelines for AI workloads.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders.

Additional Benefits

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + holiday buying scheme
  • Worksave pension scheme with up to 7% employer contribution
  • Free AA breakdown membership from Day 1 plus 50% discount for family and friends
  • Discounts on AA products including car and home insurance
  • Employee discount scheme that gives you access to a car salary sacrifice scheme plus great discounts on healthcare, shopping, holidays, and more
  • Company funded life assurance
  • Diverse learning and development opportunities
  • Dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and a 24/7 remote GP service

We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers.
