Job description

As a Claims Desktop Motor Engineer, your role will involve assessing repair versus total loss prospects using available engineering tools within established guidelines. You'll make commercial decisions, mitigate claim expenses on hire, storage, and recovery charges, authorize repairs, and ensure timely account payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve cost-effective repairs without compromising vehicle safety.
  • Produce reports, estimates, and authorize repairs accurately.
  • Correctly categorize and dispose of salvage per ABI guidelines.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with claims handlers and repairers to benefit the business and customers.
  • Monitor repair works to ensure costs align with standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of motor vehicle accident repair methods.
  • Estimation and negotiation experience.
  • VDA ATA AQP Accreditation.
  • Proficiency in Computerised Estimation Systems (Audatex, Glassmatix) and Thatcham Escribe.
