Employed, workshop-based role

Full-time preferred: Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm

Wednesday–Friday, 9am–6pm also considered

DankDubs is looking for a skilled Vehicle Prepper / Polisher with excellent ability in both preparation and polishing to join our small, friendly workshop.

We work on classic restoration projects and full resprays, where careful preparation and a high-quality final finish matter. Our work includes vehicles such as Mk2 Golfs, Sierra Cosworths, Porsche 911s, T4 campervans and Golf Rs.

Careful preparation and a consistently high-quality finish are essential. You should be confident taking work through preparation and then flatting, correcting and polishing finished paintwork after a respray. We want someone who can explain their process, spot problems and show examples of good work in both areas.

VEHICLE PREPARATION

Preparation work will include:

• Sanding and preparing panels and vehicles for paint.

• Filling and shaping repairs.

• Masking, priming and flatting to create a sound surface.

• Carrying out final preparation and checking surfaces before painting.

PAINT FINISHING AND POLISHING

The focus will be on finished paintwork, including:

• Flatting finished paintwork appropriately to the job and required finish.

• Machine polishing to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.

• Correcting suitable paint defects, sanding marks, polishing marks and surface imperfections.

• Checking the finish carefully and raising any concerns with the owner.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have at least one year of relevant vehicle preparation and polishing experience, with strong practical skills in both areas. We are looking for attention to detail, reliability and pride in your work. You should work carefully, communicate progress and problems clearly, and keep tools and work areas organised and clean. You will be expected to follow workshop safety procedures and use the required protective equipment.

Full-time Monday–Friday is preferred. We will also consider someone available Wednesday–Friday who has the preparation and polishing skills needed.
