Job Description
About the role
IPS is working with an innovative and fast-growing InsurTech that is expanding its UK claims operation. This is an opportunity to join its team as an FNOL Claims Handler, becoming the initial point of contact for customers when they report a motor incident. This role is part of a newly created claims team, offering the chance to join at an early stage of the company's growth. As one of the first team members in the function, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact, contribute to the development of processes and customer journeys, and position yourself for future career progression as the business continues to expand.
Location: Manchester City Centre (office-based during probation)
Salary: £28,000 + 10% bonus
Working hours: 40 hours per week
You will handle First Notification of Loss (FNOL) calls, capturing accurate incident details and assessing the situation to ensure each claim is set up correctly from the very start. You'll speak with customers at a stressful moment, so a calm and reassuring approach is essential as you ensure they receive a seamless journey. You'll work closely with internal colleagues and external suppliers to keep processes moving effectively and maintain exceptional levels of service.
As the UK operation continues to grow, you'll also play a role in improving workflows and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming FNOL calls and log claims accurately.
- Gather details on liability, third parties and property damage.
- Assess liability and support claim investigations where required.
- Manage claims through the customer journey, including repairs and total loss cases.
- Maintain accurate claim records, reserves and payments.
Requirements
- Previous experience handling motor claims.
- Strong communication skills and a confident, customer-focused approach.
- Ability to gather accurate information, investigate claim circumstances and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in contributing ideas to improve processes and customer outcomes.
Benefits
You'll receive a competitive salary and bonus, overtime pay enhancements, private medical cover, life insurance and pension support. The role is hybrid, with full office presence during probation and then 4 days per week in the office. There may be the odd Saturday shift, which will be paid as overtime, along with some bank holiday cover once fully established.
This is also an opportunity to join a newly established claims function within a growing InsurTech. As one of the early hires, you'll play an important role in shaping the team's success, gain exposure to a broad range of responsibilities and have opportunities for future development and progression as the UK operation grows.
